All Alone in my Own Little Corner...

Best song ever from Rodger's and Hammersteins Cinderella:). She talks about how she sits in her corner in her chair and imagines all of these different things. Let me tell you something, Brandy did a bang-up job in that movie! It's one of my favorites. Bernadette Peters is the bomb-digity. Straight up.

Anywho, I just made that incredibly lengthy reference, I'll tell you why. Books take me to that little corner. Where I am free to imagine anything I want. And that my friends, is pure bliss.

Here is my stack of books so far this past fall/winter:

Radical: Ah-ma-zing. That's all I gots to say about that sitcheeation. I could not even begin to pick one quote that I liked best but I'll give it a shot. Paraphrased: Accept him? Like Jesus needs us to accept him. Isn't that a crazy thought?

I had never thought about it that way. This book made me think about things in a different light. Read it!

The Resolution For Women: I'm 50 pages into it and IN LOVE! I feel empowered to live out my Christian duties as a woman. To fulfill the role that he has written out for me plain and simple in His word, His perfect word. The resolution to live out my life againt feminism and against discontentment. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to further their walk with the Lord.

The Treasure Principle: This book was given to me from my dad to read. It's next, so I have no remarks about it:).

It Had to be You: This is the third book in a great series by Janice Thompson. These books take place in the South and involve love, wedding planning, and a big Italian family that loves the Lord. It's going to be a great read:)!

What's on your list this winter?

IWU!

This past Monday I visited the beautiful campus of Indiana Wesleyan University. I loved every stinkin' minute of it:). The community was fantastic! Chapel was incredible and the campus is gorgeous!

The day was not all jolly and good though.

On Sunday morning we started out going to church in Muncie with my cousin Paige and her roomate Coley. The worship was amazing!!!

Then we went to Marion, Indiana and met up with Jessica. You may remember her from this post. She gave us an unofficial tour of the campus and told me what dorm I should apply for. It was great to be able to walk around and talk with her:)!

Then we drove to Gas City, Indiana to check into our hotel. It was maybe 5:00. "Mom, I'm not sitting in this hotel for five hours, sorry." So we tried to find a movie to watch in the theater in Marion. No luck. Then mom surprisingly suggests that we just get in the car and drive. So we did. Drove right past a Bingo joint we did! I was upset at that one. I would have rocked that Bingo hall, you best believe it. We drove through Marion and then realized why there were so many activities on campus at IWU. Enough said. We ended up shopping at Cracker Barrel. Place makes me smile:).

We went back to the hotel room and watched the Golden Globes until we fell asleep. I have just one thing to say to all you actors and actresses on that show. >>The music means your speech is over. O-V-E-R. It's not your cue to squeeze eveything in tht you can. Crazies.

So, we woke up at 6:45 Monday morning (and here I thought it was MLK day and I had the day off, silly me:)). We went down and ate our breakfast. While I was getting my food I assumed I was just having cramps. They'd surely be gone in a little while! Not. 7 hours of what felt like someone stabbing me in my lower right side. My WebMD app basically told me I had appendicitis. Mim thought I was crazy. Dr. Breyer (my endocronologist) said I wasn't crazy, but I didn't have appendicitis fortunately.

So, all day was full of me crying, doubled over in the back of banquet rooms during informative admissions speeches and such. No big deal.

Overall, I would have loved to done more other than sit in the fetal position in my free time. But, stuff like that will get you every time.

Visit IWU!!! It's awesome! I'm praying that God shows me where I need to go and then opens up finacial such for me:).

Peace out girl scouts!

P.S. I'm still having pain in the region of my appendix so I would very much appreciate your prayers!

Hazelnut Spread Therapy

So, I've given up chocolate for two WHOLE months. Why you may ask did I choose to go on this foolish journey through the unknown? I'm still trying to answer that myself. I'm downright nutty, that's why!

Welllllll.....Mimcharoo (aka Mom) bought these handy little devils the other day...

YES!!!!!! <<<<<What came out of my mouth when I pulled it out of the Walmart bag.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! <<<<<<What came out of my mouth after I realized I can't have chcolate for 2 months.

Then mom adds, "But it says hazelnut spread, not chocolate spread."

God bless that woman. So I ate it. ALL of it. And it was fabulous every bite of the way. And now I feel all sorts of guilty. Luckily I can't undo it:).

Some people use retail therapy, talk therapy, or even medication therapy.

Not this girl. I use hazelnut spread therapy:).

Exams, Exshcmams

The following is an epic poem which we were required to memorize in the first grade (ironic or counterproductive? you choose.)

Homework! Oh, Homework!
I hate you! You stink!
I wish I could wash you away in the sink,
if only a bomb
would explode you to bits.
Homework! Oh, homework!
You're giving me fits.

I'd rather take baths
with a man-eating shark,
or wrestle a lion
alone in the dark,
eat spinach and liver,
pet ten porcupines,
than tackle the homework,
my teacher assigns.

Homework! Oh, homework!
you're last on my list,
I simple can't see
why you even exist,
if you just disappeared
it would tickle me pink.
Homework! Oh, homework!
I hate you! You stink!

Say that three times fast.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!

WEAR YOUR UGLY GREEN SWEATPANTS AND AWKWARD FITTING TSHIRTS!

That ^ is what flashed through my mind Thursday morning when I drug myself out of bed knowing that I had to take a Physics exam 1st period, have a twenty minute study hall to do an hours worth of work, and a waaaaay too long choir class, a 50 point Precalc quiz, AND a Brit. Lit. exam.

Your chuckling at my pain aren't you?

Well, I didn't do so hot on my Physics exam, at all. But, I still ended up with an A for the semester. Weird.
92% on my Brit. Lit. exam (score!) and aced my Precalc quiz which is pratically a miracle because I've only gotten a total of 3 100%s in Precalc all semester.

Overall, I just want this school year to be over with. Amen.

WE ARE HALFWAY THERE!

More Craftiness!

Has anyone been on Pinterest? This girl has, and I've fallen in LOVE. A deep pinsomia kind of love...

Anywho, this was one of Kelsey and I's creations from Pinterest!

This is mine....if you can't read it, it sports one of my favorite quotes, "Life isn't about facing storms, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

This one is Kelsey's! It's cute:). Her quote comes from the Superchick song, Stand In the Rain.

More projects to come!

Another Crafty Day

Jennie and I now own the exact same camera. Hmm. So to solve the problem of us grabbing the wrong camera in a mad dash to take pictures of her lovely children, we made strap covers! YAY!

photo courtesy of Miss Rylie-roo (she thought my camera was her mom's and was just snapping away, I wasn't about to stop her!)

I made some rosettes out of linen and sewed them on! I easily slid my strap back in and wa-la!

Isn't it cute!?

If you want, I'll make ya one for a low cost! Just leave a comment:)!
